Hole 1 - Broad Oak

Not an easy length for an opening hole. A good drive is essential to carry the rough in front of the tee and allow for a pitch to the green. The longer hitters will be looking to possibly drive this green depending on the wind if not leaving a short pitch into the green.

Hole 2 - Short Shrift

Don't be frightened by the pond in front of the tee or the bunker by the green. Keep your head still and a mashie niblick is all that is required to put you on the green. If any carelessness creeps into the shot then all sorts of things are liable to happen.

Hole 3 - Joey's Drok

A dog leg to the left with a narrow fairway approaching the green requiring accurate placing of the second shot. From the back tee a well struck driver may get you down into the dip leaving a long iron into the green, But watch out any shots long of the green will be swallowed up by the bunker leaving a tricky up and down.

Hole 4 - Green Berry

A solid struck tee shot is required on this narrow hole, bushes both left and right of the fairway gather up all the hooked and sliced tee shots. It is vital that you leave your approach shot short of the pin on this hole otherwise you will be left with a very tricky two putt.

Hole 5 - Durmast

There is a chance for the long hitter to pick up a stroke at this hole. The lesser lights will play safely into the shallow valley and pitch on for three but the 'tiger' will elect to have a go and, if his two shots are well and truly hit, there is every chance that he will be home in two. When going for the green in two always take an extra club as the bank behind the green will make your ball roll back into the heart of the green.

Hole 6 - Shelley Fir

The temptation here is to hit out across the wide valley, so keep your head still and let the tee shot be a good one. The approach must be very accurate to avoid the hazards and trees which guard the green. A very interesting and attractive hole - perhaps it's the stiffest par four on the course and many a player will have to be content with a stroke or two more if fate is unkind.

Hole 7 - Cottismore

A dog-leg hole and a difficult one too. Natural hazards and holly will punish many a miss hit second shot and tempt the wiser one to play for a safe five rather than to go all out for a doubtful par.

Hole 8 - Holmhurst

A short par 4 where accuracy is more important than length. Longer hitters may take on this green with a long and straight tee shot over the bunkers, If not then an iron up the middle will leave you a wedge into the green.

Hole 9 - Miracle Trees

A good finishing hole which calls for accuracy. Those who slice or pull may find themselves stymied by bushes or other natural hazards which line the fairway. Keep up the middle and you stand a chance of picking up a birdie to finish a round which will have given any amount of enjoyment.

Hole 13 - Long Bottom

A straightforward hole slightly uphill in a very pleasant valley. Good straight hitting is required for there is plenty of trouble for both sliced and hooked shots along the steep sides that run parallel to the hole.
